Three people were taken into custody on felony drug charges following a traffic stop on Veterans Memorial Parkway.Around 10:30 p.m. June 14, Warren County Deputy Shawn Moritz stopped a vehicle driven by Wanda Williams, 32, of Wright City, after noticing it lacked the required license plate lighting and the plates displayed on the vehicle allegedly belonged to another vehicle. In his probable cause statement, Moritz said he approached the vehicle and asked Williams if he could search the car, which she allowed.During the search, Moritz said he found a blue box, obscured by a green washcloth. Inside it he found two small bags of methamphetamine and a small bag of marijuana. While continuing to search the vehicle, he found a floral-patterned bag containing a measuring spoon and digital scales.Williams, and her passengers, Lisa Lewis, 51, of Warrenton, and Alvin Barnett, 51, of Wight City, were charged with distribution of a controlled substance (meth) and possession of a controlled substance (marijuana).Williams has no criminal record in Warren County, but Lewis and Barnett have both recently had run-ins with local law enforcement. Lewis was on probation for a 2013 drug charge while Barnett recently completed a 10-year probation, five years early, following a 2011 driving while intoxicated (chronic offender) charge.Crime
