The Wright City Parks Department’s first Fall Festival is from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Diekroeger Park in Wright CityThis family event will feature live entertainment from Abra-Kid-Abra, Rich Helton and Circle of Friends; crafts, a raffle, magic acts, a washer tournament, games, food and music, and a chili cook-off.All proceeds from the event will go toward upgrading playground equipment at city parks.Anyone can compete in the chili cook-off. The cost is $10 to enter, to be paid before Oct. 5. For a chili contest registration form, contact the parks department through Facebook or stop by Wright City City Hall.Chili cook-off check-in is from 11:30-11:50 a.m. The contest runs from noon to 2 p.m. Awards for first, second and third places will be announced around 2:15 p.m. Someone will earn the award for “Hottest Chili Appearance.”Cups and small spoons for sampling will be provided.
