A woman from Wright City was killed Monday morning in a crash on Highway 79 in O’Fallon.
The victim in the crash was identified as 19-year-old McKenzie S. McMullin, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
A preliminary report from the crash states McMullin was southbound on Highway 79 when the 2007 Mazda 3 she was driving travelled off the side of the road and struck a utility pole. The vehicle caught fire after the crash.
The accident happened at 12:15 a.m., on Highway 79 near the Interstate 70 interchange. McMullin was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
Law enforcement have not released further details about the cause of the accident.
