Wright City woman hurt in crash

A Wright City woman was seriously hurt in a two-vehicle collision in Lincoln County Wednesday, Oct. 4.

Mary Harris, 81, was taken to St. Louis University Hospital after the collision involving the Lincoln MKT she was driving and a Chevrolet Traverse driven by Angel Knoverek, 46, of Quincy, Ill.

The crash happened at the intersection of Interstate 61 and Highway W in Lincoln County at 1:35 p.m. According to a Missouri Highway Patrol preliminary report, the two cars drove through the intersection at the same time, Harris going east and Knoverek going south.

The front of the Traverse struck the left side of the MKT driven by Harris. She reportedly was not wearing a seat belt. St. Charles County Ambulance responded to the scene and transported Harris to the hospital.

Knoverek had minor injuries reported and refused treatment at the scene. She was wearing a seat belt.
