A Wright City woman was charged with child abuse for an incident that allegedly occurred between April 24, 2025 and Nov. 6 2025.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed by the Wright City Police Department, Margarita Garcia of Wright City reported to officers that she and her daughter got into an argument Nov. 3, 2025 and she has not heard from her daughter since.
Officers contacted the victim who told them that Garcia had abused her for years in multiple states. She showed an officer images from her cellphone that depicted various injuries to different parts of her body. The injuries in the photographs were dated April 25, Sept. 2, Oct. 10 and Nov. 3, 2025.
On May 12, 2025 a no-bond warrant was issued for Garcia’s arrest. No other information on the case was immediately available.
