Wright City earned a close win over Louisiana to win their opening round game of the Clopton Invitational Tuesday night.
Wright City (6-4, 1-2 EMO) beat Louisiana 40-38 in the first of two matchups between the conference foes over an eight day span. The Wildcats will play at Louisiana Jan. 9 in their scheduled conference matchup.
Tuesday night’s tournament opener was close through most of the game. The Wildcats led 19-18 at halftime and trailed 26-25 after three quarters.
Wright City will square off against Clopton Jan. 4 in the tournament semifinals.
Lady Wildcats fall to Elsberry
The Wright City Lady Wildcats dropped their first game of the Clopton Invitational.
Wright City (4-5, 0-1 EMO) fell to Elsberry 52-13 in the first round of the Clopton Tournament. Wright City was slated to play in the first round of the consolation bracket Jan. 3.
