Wright City is planning to widen the curve of the truck route through its downtown area. The corner of West South First Street and South West Avenue isn’t adequate for trucks to make the turn, so trucks are pulling through a resident’s yard, officials said.“It’s pretty ugly. We have to do something,” Dixon said.South West Avenue turns into Highway F, one of the primary routes connecting Wright City to southern Warren County. The Wright City Board of Aldermen approved $4,225 for concrete and other materials to widen the turn during a public meeting March 22. A city crew will do the work.Traffic will be redirected for about a week after the concrete is poured, added Public Works Superintendent Kenny Robinett. During that time, signs will redirect trucks and other vehicles traveling south toward Highway F to use West South Second Street.Wright City signRecord photo
