Wright City will hold its annual holiday events Dec. 7 and Dec. 9.
The annual Christmas Parade is at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, from Ruge Park to Diekroeger Park.
The fun begins at 6 p.m. when Santa and Mrs. Claus, floats, walking units, the school band and decorated vehicles will depart Ruge Park. The parade ends where Santa and Mrs. Claus will greet youngsters and distribute gifts to each child. Photos with the Clauses can also be taken.
Inside the Heiliger Building, guests can sample cookies and warm up with hot chocolate.
Saturday morning, Dec. 9, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be back at the Heiliger Building for breakfast with local children. While Mrs. Claus helps serve pancakes and fruit, Santa will be available to talk to children and listen to their Christmas wish list. His elves will be reading Christmas stories.
The Parents as Teachers group will have a take and make craft for children. Children will have another space to write letters to Santa.
Also that morning, runners and walkers should come dressed in their ugliest sweater for a 5K walk/run through Wright City. Prizes will be awarded for the ugliest and most original sweater. The 5K starts at 9 a.m. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at Diekroeger Park.
