Jenna Grow of Wright City placed second in the District 9 American Legion’s Constitutional Oratorical Contest.State Rep. Bryan Spencer congratulated Grow for placing second at the District 9 American Legion Oratorical Contest.Jenna is a junior at Liberty Christian Academy in Wright City.“Jenna is a dynamic young lady with a bright future ahead of her. She is involved in several activities, is an accomplished speaker and has received several awards. We’re all very proud of what she has been able to accomplish through hard work and dedication,” said Spencer, R-Wright City.“Jenna joins an accomplished list of young people who have excelled in this contest and I’m sure her success today will lead to even more success in the years to come,” he added.The American Legion Oratorical Contest exists to develop deeper knowledge and appreciation for the U.S. Constitution among high school students. Students from Ralls, Audrain, Pike, Callaway, Montgomery, Lincoln, Warren, Gasconade, St. Charles and Franklin counties were eligible to send their county winners to the regional level.Since 1938, the program has presented participants with an academic speaking challenge that teaches important leadership qualities, the history of our nation’s laws, the ability to think and speak clearly, and an understanding of the duties, responsibilities, rights and privileges of American citizenship. Speaking subjects must be on some aspect of the U.S. Constitution, with some emphasis on the duties and obligations of citizens to our government.

Jenna Grow, Wright City, placed second in the District 9 American Legion’s Constitutional Oratorical Contest. She is a student at Liberty Christian Academy.
