The Wright City R-II Board of Education approved a pay increase for summer school staff at last month’s regular board meeting.
The board voted 7-0 to approve the administration’s recommendation for the summer school certified and classified pay rate to increase by $3 per hour.
With the pay rate increase, Wright City summer school teachers will make $30 per hour and aides will make $17 per hour. The increase also applies to administrators, Wright City R-II Superintendent Dr. Chris Berger said.
“This became kind of expedited because we needed to recruit teachers and aides for this summer school,” Berger said. “So it was brought to my attention we hadn’t looked at summer school in at least three years and probably more like five in terms of pay.”
