Wright City police officers and firefighters will compete in a community softball match as part of the city’s local National Night celebration on Aug. 3.
The match will be hosted at Ruge Park starting at 6 p.m., and community members are invited to come spectate and show support for their team of choice. Spectators are encouraged to wear blue to cheer for Wright City police, and red to cheer for Wright City firefighters.
Concessions will be provided and sold that evening by fire department volunteers, with all proceeds from the sales going to BackStoppers, an organization that supports the families of first responders hurt or killed in the line of duty.
Families from Wright City and across the area are invited to attend the game and show their support for first responders in the local community and beyond. National Night Out is a nationwide event that helps build connections between first responders and the communities that they serve.
