Wright City Police Chief Douglas Saulters resigned Monday morning according to city officials.Saulters, who had served as Chief since January of 2011, did not give a reason for his resignation according to Mayor David Heiliger."It was a shock to us, he's definitely going to be missed," Heiliger told The Record Monday afternoon. "He was good for the City. All the guys in the department liked and respected him. We thank him for his service."Heiliger said that Lt. Matt Eskew will serve as Interim Chief for the time being. He said there were no immediate plans to begin a search for a replacement for Saulters."We're going to pursue this avenue for a while and see how it goes," he explained. "The town is in very good and capable hands with Matt. We'll make it through this."For more information on Chief Saulters' resignation, see Thursday's Record.Wright City Police Logo
