A 37-year-old Wright City man was arrested last Wednesday for allegedly being in possession of drugs, authorities said.Wright City police responded to a residence on North Clarence Drive to check the well-being of a child. According to the probable cause statement, a babysitter was at the home getting a child prepared for school when the suspect arrived home. The suspect, identified as David Peterson, began throwing items from the home into the driveway before closing and locking the door.When police arrived, they entered the home to ensure the child’s safety, the probable cause statement said, and detained Peterson. Prescription pills were seized from Peterson’s jeans pockets along with a cigar allegedly containing marijuana, police said.Peterson was charged with felony drug possession and misdemeanor marijuana possession.Looking for suspects
