A Wright City man who drove to St. Louis multiple times a day to purchase heroin was sentenced to 10 years in prison.As part of a plea agreement, 36-year-old Robert J. Bankhead was sentenced on the felony distribution charge during a court appearance July 7. He also received 30 days on two counts for marijuana possession and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.The sentences will run concurrent, according to online court records. Bankhead, of Pine Forest Drive, pleaded guilty to the charges.Police said Bankhead distributed heroin to local residents who provided him with cash for the drug runs. Wright City detectives responded to his residence to perform a search warrant in March. While searching a jacket he was wearing, police discovered heroin packaged in four smaller bags and a bag containing pot, according to the probable cause statement.Police said they also seized $294 in cash that was found in one of Bankhead’s pockets and numerous items used to package drugs.Robert Bankhead
