A Warren County man is scheduled to be sentenced next week in federal court on two counts of sexual offenses committed against a minor.Randall P. Abernathy, 36, Wright City, already was sentenced to 125 years in prison after pleading guilty in Warren County Circuit Court to four felony charges, including:Two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, promoting child pornography in the first degree and first-degree statutory sodomy, according to Mike Wright, Warren County prosecuting attorney.Sentencing in the Warren County cases was handed down by St. Charles Circuit Judge Nancy L. Schneider.Wright said he argued for Abernathy to receive lengthy jail terms."My hope is that he spends the rest of his life in prison," Wright told The Record, adding that he felt Schneider's sentence was appropriate."Under the sentencing guidelines for this type of offense, he (Abernathy) will technically become eligible for parole after serving 40 percent of his sentence, when he's 70 years old," Wright remarked.See the Thursday, June 27, edition of The Record for the complete article.
