A Wright City man, 63, was killed in a two-car accident in Lincoln County early in the morning of May 27, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
A Winfield man, 18, was traveling south on Route J, north of Lake Forest Drive, when he traveled off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and began to skid, according to the patrol.
When he overcorrected, he crossed the centerline and struck the Wright City man, who was traveling north on Route J, head on.
The Wright City man’s vehicle overturned off the right side of the road. The Winfield man was ejected from the vehicle and came to rest south of the Wright City man’s vehicle.
The Wright City man was transported to Mercy Hospital Lincoln via ambulance and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Winfield man sustained serious injuries in the accident and was transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis via ambulance.
Neither of the men were wearing their seat belts in the accident, according to the patrol.
