A Wright City man, 58, was struck by a car and killed on the Northwest Service Road of Interstate 70 west of North Stracks Church Road around 6:45 p.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

A Wright City man, 58, was struck by a car and killed on the Northwest Service Road of Interstate 70 west of North Stracks Church Road around 6:45 p.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The first Wright City man was parked on the road, partially blocking the westbound lane, according to the patrol.
A second vehicle, driven by a 39-year-old Wright City man, was approaching in the westbound lane as the first Wright City man was walking from the rear of the vehicle to the driver’s side door. The front right side of the second vehicle struck the 58-year-old Wright City man, causing fatal injuries and striking the parked vehicle, according to the patrol.
He was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics, the second Wright City man did not report any injuries, according to the patrol.
