A Warren County man was arrested and charged Monday for allegedly kidnapping and molesting a 3-year-old girl. Sheriff Kevin Harrison said Wilbur K. Sexton, 66, of the 17000 block of Park Drive, Wright City, picked up the girl from the driveway of her residence on Friday. He took her to his house approximately two blocks away. It was there, Harrison said, that Sexton allegedly touched the girl inappropriately. Harrison said the girl managed to escape Sexton’s residence on her own. She later told her mother about the incident, who then called the police. Harrison said Sexton’s alleged actions were disturbing. “I find it odd that at 66 years old, this guy picks up a girl off the street, in a residential area and does something like this,” Harrison said. “It’s alarming that he was that bold. That is a concern for me. It makes me think, has he done this before and does he have other victims?” Sexton was charged Monday with first-degree child molestation and child kidnapping. He is being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 cash-only bond. Sexton previously had been told to not have contact with the girl, authorities said. Sexton’s previous criminal history, according to online court records, includes spending 15 days in jail last year for speeding and driving without insurance. He currently is on probation after pleading guilty to a driving while intoxicated charge from October 2009.
