A Wright City man, 49, was involved in a car accident with a pedestrian on Interstate 70 in St. Louis on the afternoon of Dec. 28, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
He was traveling in the left lane on the interstate when a pedestrian attempted to cross the highway. He swerved to the left off the road and the right side of his vehicle struck the pedestrian, a 25-year-old St. Louis woman, according to the patrol.
She suffered serious injuries in the accident and was taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis by Community Fire Protection. The Wright City man did not report any injuries in the accident, according to the patrol.
