Federal prosecutors say they’ve charged a Wright City area resident with distributing fentanyl at the Ameristar Casino in St. Charles.
Ledra A. Craig, 43, was charged in federal court Aug. 4, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri. Prosecutors said Craig has been implicated in at least one overdose death.
An investigation was opened after the overdose victim was located on Aug. 2. The U.S. Attorney’s Office said investigators located surveillance video from the Ameristar Casino showing Craig distributing narcotics to two people, including the overdose victim, just hours before the body was discovered.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office alleged that Craig admitted to investigators that he had been selling fentanyl at the casino.
The case was investigated by the federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the St. Charles County Regional Drug Task Force.
