A Wright City man received a three-year sentence Aug. 6 for forging signatures on community service documents he provided his probation officer.Daniel Hammer, 28, had been ordered by the 12th Judicial Circuit Court to perform 40 hours of community service as part of his probation requirements on a misdemeanor domestic assault charge.Last spring, he gave documents to his probation officer indicating he had done his community service at a Salvation Army location in St. Charles.When the probation officer contacted the agency to verify the hours, she was informed Hammer had not volunteered at the Salvation Army and the individuals whose signature appeared on his community service paperwork did not work at the agency, authorities said.Wright City Man Gets 3 Years for Forgery
