Wright City Man Faces Charges of Murder and Aggravated DWI

A Wright City man who was involved in a crash in January that killed his passenger has been charged as an aggravated offender.Marcus Anthony Jones, 52, has been charged with second-degree murder and aggravated DWI — alcohol.He also was charged with driving with a revoked license.According to court documents, on Jan. 12 Jones was driving westbound on the North Outer Road of Interstate 70 about one mile west of Stracks Church Road when he lost control of his vehicle and it went off the roadway striking two trees.The passenger, Joyce Mullen, 64, Warrenton, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.Jones suffered moderate injuries from the crash.Police said they smelled alcohol on Jones' breath and obtained blood samples from him.Jones has two prior alcohol related convictions in Boone County in 1991 and 1994 was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
