Robert Schone, 61, of Wright City, was charged with failure to register as a sex offender for a third time, a felony, stemming from his arrest on Jan. 13.
According to the probable cause statement filed by Warren County Sheriff’s Department Lieutenant Scott Schoenfeld, he began investigating Schone for failure to register on Dec. 20, 2024, after Schone missed his deadline to register on his birthday on Nov. 23, 2024.
Schone was previously convicted of sodomy in St. Charles County in 1988 and sexual misconduct involving a child in Boone County in 2008. He also failed to register as a sex offender three times prior to this charge in Polk County in 2006, St. Charles County in 2013, Lincoln County in 2019 and the Eastern Missouri District Court in 2019.
According to the probable cause statement, at the time of his arrest, Schone was on supervised release and had an active warrant for his arrest.
A warrant was issued for his arrest and he is to be held without bond.
