A Wright City man caused an accident in Lincoln County that led to a Troy woman suffering serious injuries, the Missouri State Highway Patrol says.

A Wright City man caused a serious accident on old U.S. 61 at Highway KK in Lincoln County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 27.
According to the report, Jose Ramirez, 74 of Wright City, failed to yield while attempting to make a left turn in his 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. He was then struck on the passenger side by a 2010 GMC Yukon driven by Elizabeth A. Kamplain, 40 of Troy.
Jeff Maschmeier reached out directly to The Warren County Record to dispute some of the information in the official accident report, and said he had also reached out to the Missouri State Highway Patrol to ask them to change the official account of the accident.
Kamplain was taken by Lincoln County Ambulance District to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Lake St. Louis with serious injuries, according to the report.
The report indicates that Kamplain was not wearing her safety device at the time of the accident.
Ramirez refused medical treatment.
Both vehicles suffered extensive damage. Ramirez's vehicle was driven from the scene according to the official report, but according to Maschmeier, a wheel fell off the truck and it had to be towed. according to the report. Kamplain's vehicle was towed.
