All Warren County residents are invited to Wright City's National Night Out celebration from 5 to 9 p.m. Aug. 1 at Diekroeger Park.
The event gives residents an opportunity to meet first responders while enjoying live music, food, barrel train, bounce house and more.
All proceeds from the event will be donated to Warren County BackStoppers.
“I’m a firm believer that if we can join families and kids with first responders in a moment that is not driven by chaos or drama of them being victims, then we can hopefully create a better opportunity for them to not be as terrified in a moment where they have to be involved with the first responders,” Wright City Mayor Michelle Heiliger said during the July 13 board of aldermen meeting.”If we embrace them as an entire county and an entire community, it’s a win for everybody.”
First responders from Marthasville, Warrenton, and Truesdale will join crews from Wright City at the event.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, according to the national organization’s website.
