Wright City held its annual flag retirement ceremony, on Flag Day, June 14, at Diekroeger Park.
The ceremony is held to properly dispose of the flags by burning them, once their life of service has ended. There was also a brief service to provide the flags with the reverence they deserved before they were laid to rest.
The Wright City Fire Protection District was on hand to replace the flag at Diekroeger Park and the Wright City Scout Troop 835 helped to dispose of the flags.
