The Wright City Board of Aldermen this month approved the hiring of an assistant city prosecutor and assistant parks director.
The city appointed Rebecca Richardson into the role of assistant prosecuting attorney March 12. Richardson currently works as an assistant prosecutor in the Warren County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, said City Administrator Jim Schuchmann.
“The assistant prosecutor is the person who would fill in, in case our regular prosecutor is out sick or has another engagement,” Schuchmann explained.
The city’s prosecutors handle small municipal offenses, such as most traffic violations.
Appointed to assistant parks director was Josh Cole, a Wright City native. He began work at the Wright City Parks Department last week.
“The duties of the parks department are becoming more and more all the time, so he’s going to be helping and learning the ropes,” Schuchmann commented. “With the (planned) 62-acre park, there’s going to be quite a few additional duties to keep up with as well.”
The assistant parks director is a new position for Wright City. Schuchmann said the city wants to have a succession plan in place for when longtime Parks Director Curt Kehoe decides to retire in the future. If and when that happens, Schuchmann
predicts Cole would move up and a new assistant parks director would be hired.
