Its season coming to an early ending, the Wright City golf team turned its focus toward the future on Monday.The Wildcats failed to advance any competitors past the Class 2 District 4 Tournament at Redfield Country Club in Eugene.Facing a new field of district competitors, Wright City finished last out of nine schools, shooting a 463.The good news for Bill Schaffer — his entire varsity lineup consists of sophomores.Just as he’d done throughout the year, Griffin Tinker led the Wildcats in the No. 1 spot with a 107.Par for the course was 72.Three competitors shot -2, but beyond that, scores were relatively high. Half of the 15 qualifiers shot 84 through 86.Andrew Bohler was second for the Wildcats with a 115, while Bear Lauber carded a 119 in the No. 2 spot.Zach Stewart shot a 122, while Josh Rogers recorded a 79.Blair Oaks won the team title by shooting a 319, while Southern Boone took second at 328.Wildcats Place Secondat EMO TournamentWright City also competed in the Eastern Missouri Conference Tournament last Wednesday, finishing second with 435 points.
