The Wright City Community Food Pantry has completed the process of buying its current building, the Rev. Joe Purl said during the Dec. 28 board of aldermen meeting.
“Our exciting news is that we finished purchasing our property today, signing the final paperwork,” he said. “So we’re very thankful for everyone that was involved in the vision as we started in 2016. And this has been just very exciting to start from nothing and to open up and now to amazingly own our own property.”
Purl had announced at the Dec. 14 board of aldermen meeting that the food pantry was in the process of buying its building.
The food pantry at 217 E. First Street North is open from 9 a.m. to noon the second and fourth Saturdays of the month and from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays. It has been at that location since November 2020, when it moved from its temporary building behind the Wright City Church of the Nazarene.
The Wright City Community Food Pantry was founded in 2016.
