Wright City High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (WCHS FBLA) chapter earned top honors and multiple podium finishes at the Missouri FBLA State Leadership Conference, demonstrating strong preparation, leadership and competitive excellence.
Leading the way was Matthew Johnston, who was elected vice president of communications for Missouri FBLA. Johnston placed second in project management and earned a sixth-place finish in the community service project alongside Olivia Wilson and Zola Jones.
WCHS FBLA produced two state champions, with Trinity DeWitt earning first place in business communication and Brody Buttry earning first place in networking infrastructure.
Additional top finishes included second-place awards for Raelynn Smith in introductory business communication; Suhan Mir, Karsten Uhl and Aiden Taylor in international business; Kaiden Pilcher in networking infrastructure; and Maura Juden in real estate. Third-place honors went to Marshall Pherigo in data science and artificial intelligence and Olivia Wilson in real estate. DeWitt also earned a fourth-place finish in advertising.
Fifth-place finishes were earned by Morgan Nute in advertising, Addie Ward in human resource management, Janya Davis in real estate and Caitlin Williams in business procedures. Sixth-place honors included the community service project team of Johnston, Wilson and Jones, along with the network design team of Audrina Graves and Marli Burkhardt. Ninth-place finishes were earned by Jayden Bricker, Garrett Lehmen and Sam Pohl in banking and financial systems, as well as by Landon Juden, Garrett Lehmen and Sam Pohl in entrepreneurship. Hailey Swor placed 10th in real estate.
The Missouri FBLA State Leadership Conference brings together top students from across the state to compete in business-related events that assess knowledge, skills and leadership. WCHS FBLA’s results reflect a sustained commitment to excellence and preparation.
“WCHS FBLA continues to compete at the highest level,” said chapter adviser Amanda Bair. “These results represent the hard work, dedication and growth of our students throughout the year.”
