Wright City Couple Face Child Endangerment Charges

A Wright City couple face charges of child endangerment after police found trash, animal feces, cockroaches, paraphernalia and a gun and at their home.April D. Paschall, 31, was charged with possession of paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child, and Kevin P. Paschall, 34, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.According to court documents, police responded to the 30000 block of Beth Drive at 3:08 p.m. Dec. 5, to assist a Warren County juvenile office with a child welfare investigation. Police found the home dirty and cluttered with trash, toys, clothing, and crawling with cockroaches. Police found filthy water and dirty dishes in the sink and dog feces on the floor throughout the home and a strong odor of urine. The couple's five-year-old son was was found wearing a shirt and a dirty pair of white underwear. According to police, his legs and feet were covered in dirt.April Paschall told police that she had completed a drug rehabilitation program after her two children were removed from the home in 2010. She said she has since smoked methamphetamine. During a search of the home she turned over a smoking device containing marijuana residue. Police also found a Kel-Tec 9mm pistol under the mattress in the master bedroom in reach of the children. April Paschall said she was a convicted felon and was advised by her probation officer to have the pistol removed from the home. She was convicted in August 2013 for felony possession of a controlled substance.The children were removed from the home by the Division of Family Services for the second time.
