Wright City Cemetery Walk is Sept. 29

A blind pianist, the daughter of a prominent banker who dies an untimely death, a woman who travels extensively abroad while young and then settles on a farm with her husband, and the wife of a well known Wright City storekeeper are among those whose stories will be shared during the fourth annual Wright City Cemetery Walk Sunday, Sept. 29.Volunteers dressed in costume will portray eight individuals who once made Wright City their home. Participants are invited to bring folding chairs if they wish to sit during the storytelling at each gravesite.Admission is $5 (children 12 and under are free). Proceeds will benefit the work of the Wright City Cemetery Memorial Society, which organizes the cemetery walk.The walk begins at 2:30 p.m. Participants should gather at the flagpole in the cemetery. People who are comfortably able to walk are encouraged to park in the Immanuel United Church of Christ parking lot. Parking in the cemetery is limited.Following the program, people are invited to view exhibits inside the basement of the Fellowship Hall and sample a variety of cookies.In case of rain, the program will be held inside the hall.For more information, call 636-745-1025.
