As many as 1,000 or more marching band students from 14 schools will travel to Wright City this Saturday, Sept. 23.
The annual Wright City Band Competition begins at 8:30 a.m. at the middle school.
Marching bands will perform along a short route on Westwoods Road from Bell Road to Wildcat Drive. The affected section of the road will be closed for the duration of the competition.
Indoor drumline and color guard competitions will take place at the Wright City High School gym starting at 10:15 a.m.
A field performance competition at the high school athletic stadium will begin at 3 p.m. and continue until around 7:15 p.m. An exhibition by Wright City’s marching band will be the final performance.
There is an admission fee for the indoor and field events. The fee is $7 for adults and $5 for students. Children below school age will get in for free.
