Wright City residents are being asked to conserve water over the weekend because of problems with two of the city's wells. The motor for one well pump has stopped working, and another well isn't pumping at full capacity, said City Clerk Karen Girondo. Replacement parts have been ordered and will be installed by Monday, she said.As long as the wells are not working at capacity, water will not be replenished as quickly into the city's system. There are 700,000 gallons of water stored in Wright City's water towers, but officials are asking residents not to use too much."It's Spring, so nobody's going to be out watering lawns or washing bars, but just conserve water a bit, especially if you notice water pressure getting low," Girondo said. She added that city staff does regular maintenance and checks the wells daily, but equipment failures just sometimes happen.Wright City Water Tower
