The Bear Creek bridge on Missouri Route Y south of Jonesburg is now open after being closed so the Missouri Department of Transportation and its contractor could replace the bridge deck.“The new deck is 2 feet wider than the old one, and the bridge now has crashworthy guardrails so drivers will feel more comfortable meeting other cars or trucks,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Erik Maninga. “We’ve also been able to remove the load posting from the bridge, so all legal loads will now be permitted to drive across the bridge at the posted speed limit.” MoDOT
