The annual Woofstock festival raising money to build a local animal shelter is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 21 at Diekroeger Park in Wright City. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Dogs on leashes are welcome to attend and participate in such activities as an agility course, pet-icures, look-a-like contests with their pet parents, grooviest costume and best pet trick. Selfie photos can be taken at the beach photo room.
Wiener dog races will be a highlight as one of the most popular events of the festival.
Woofstock will have numerous vendors in the park and also barbecue and ice cream. Several rescue groups will have adoptable dogs in Rescue Village.
The event is sponsored by Main St. Real Estate in Warrenton and Wags & Whiskers, the group building a new animal shelter near Highways F and M, about halfway between Wright City and Innsbrook.
KFAV/KWRE radio host Mike Thomas will be broadcasting live at the park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
