MARSTON, Mo. (AP) — A Rockford, Ill., woman has her service dog back, a month after losing him in rural Missouri, eight hours from her home. Debbie Vallejo was traveling through Missouri last month when she stopped at a Pilot's store in Marston to let her dog, Slick, take a nature break. The dog ran away. KFVS-TV reports it was more than companionship Vallejo lost. Slick is trained to help Vallejo keep her balance. Vallejo drove all over but couldn't find him. She did make acquaintance with Marston resident J.L. Bugg, who told Vallejo if he found the dog, he'd let Vallejo know. Sure enough, Bugg found Slick near the same store where he went missing. Vallejo drove back recently and picked him up. Women Service Dog Photo
