A woman was arrested Wednesday, Dec. 21, in connection with two burglaries at an apartment complex in the 200 block of Veterans Memorial Parkway in Wright City.The victims in one apartment told police a woman, later identified as Patricia A. Scaife, knocked on their door and solicited money in the name of St. Jude Hospital, according to the arrest report. After the victim gave Scaife $2, Scaife allegedly forced her way into the apartment, entered a bedroom and stole a handful of coins from a can, the arrest report states.Scaife allegedly then entered a different apartment in the complex while another victim was sleeping, and stole a $15 Wal-Mart gift card from the victim’s purse and about $20 worth of coins from a glass jar, according to the arrest report.Scaife was arrested by Lake Saint Louis police. She reportedly was in possession of a Wal-Mart gift card and various coins when she was arrested. Scaife allegedly admitted to entering the apartments while talking to police.Scaife has been charged with two felony counts of first-degree burglary and two misdemeanor counts of stealing less than $500. Her arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 11.Patricia A. Scaife
