An Innsbrook woman is claiming she is entitled to half of the winnings from a $1 million Powerball ticket sold last month in Warrenton.Chantel Linville, of Innsbrook, accuses Elaine Baker, of Warrenton, of not splitting the prize, according to a lawsuit filled Feb. 25 in Warren County Circuit Court.Baker purchased the winning ticket on the day of the Feb. 11 Powerball drawing at FastLane North, located at 1010 N. Highway 47 in Warrenton. She claimed her prize at the lottery’s St. Louis office on Feb. 13, according to Missouri Lottery officials.Linville alleges in the lawsuit that the two women had entered into a prior agreement where they agreed to purchase lottery tickets and share equally in any winnings. Linville claims she had shared winnings with Baker on prior occasions when a winning lottery ticket had been purchased.Linville alleges that Baker failed and refused to honor the agreement and that she is entitled to $500,000, half of the winning $1 million ticket, the suit states.Linville is represented by Gary Growe, of St. Louis.The $1 million Powerball ticket was one of three sold in Missouri.
