Woman charged with possession of a controlled substance

A St. Louis woman was charged with possession of a controlled substance and two misdemeanor offenses following an incident that occurred April 19.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed by the Warrenton Police Department, officers were dispatched to 499 Veterans Memorial Parkway for a reported theft. Officers made contact with the victim who said her purse was stolen from a shopping cart at the entrance of the business. Upon reviewing video footage, Robin Harris, 43, St. Louis, was observed removing the victim’s purse from the cart and placing it in her own shopping cart.

According to the affidavit, Harris was later located at 623 E. Veterans Memorial Parkway and placed under arrest where she had in her possession, multiple IDs and debit cards belonging to the victim, three white and blue capsules containing a white powdery substance and a bag of marijuana. A test was done of the powdery substance through the state crime lab which showed a positive for fentanyl.
