A woman from Wright City is facing multiple felony charges for allegedly assaulting police officers late last year.Justine N. Cokley, aka Justine Bollinger, 38, is charged with domestic assault, two charges of assault against a special victim, and two charges of resisting arrest. The charges were filed April 24.Wright City police were called to a residence on Red Leaf Way Dec. 27, 2017, after a report of a domestic assault. The reporting party told police Cokley (then known by the last name Bollinger) had punched him in the face. When three officers arrived, Cokley allegedly left the house and got into her vehicle, ignoring directions from the officers to stop. Police said Cokley put the vehicle in reverse in an attempt to flee.An officer opened the driver side door, reaching inside to stop the vehicle or gain control of Cokley, according to police. At that time, the door of the vehicle struck the officer as Cokley continued to back the vehicle up.Police said Cokley was eventually removed from the vehicle and continued resisting as she was told she was under arrest. Police allege she intentionally flung herself to the ground, drawing blood from an abrasion on her elbow. While being taken to a patrol car, she then allegedly lunged at an officer and dropped her body onto the officer’s leg, causing a minor injury. When the officer attempted to pull Cokley from the ground, she bit his finger, authorities said. When she was eventually transported to the Warren County Jail, Cokley continued to resist, and allegedly smeared blood from her elbow onto a detention officer. The victim of the original domestic assault call told police that Cokley was hitting him in the face while he was driving on Interstate 70 into Wright City.Police observed a cut next to the victim’s left eye and swelling to the right side of his face. The complete charges against Cokley include three felony charges and two misdemeanors. She is charged with third-degree assault, resisting arrest, creating a substantial risk of injury, and third-degree domestic assault, all felonies; and fourth-degree assault and misdemeanor resisting arrest. The warrant for Cokley’s arrest includes a $25,000 bond.Crime
