Authorities are charging a Wright City woman with a felony, alleging that she struck a man with a baseball bat during a conflict in June.Michelle M. Banfield, 34, is charged with second-degree domestic assault, a Class D felony. She is free from jail on a $10,000 bond.Police were called to Banfield’s home on Essex Court in Wright City just after 9 p.m. June 23, according to Wright City police. A 911 dispatcher told officers a male subject had called and said “Please come,” then hung up.When police arrived at the residence, the man told an officer that Banfield had hit him several times with a bat on each arm and once in the face.An officer observed blood on the man’s cheek and swelling on his arm.A juvenile at the residence reportedly told police he had seen Banfield strike the man several times with a bat. Police allege Banfield admitted to the assault.Banfield’s next hearing in Warren County Circuit Court is Dec. 19.
