Warren County prosecutors have issued charges against a woman who led Foristell police on a high-speed car chase in August 2019.
Kelly A. Miller, 28, of St. Louis, was detained Aug. 10, 2019, after fleeing police from Foristell to Wright City and back again, at one point allegedly attempting to ram a police car. She is now charged with second-degree assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest while creating substantial risk of injury, and several other misdemeanor traffic offenses.
According to a Foristell police report, an officer attempted to pull Miller over just after midnight for driving 90 mph on the North Service Road and failing to stay in her lane. A license plate check indicated the vehicle was stolen.
Miller allegedly fled from the officer, continuing to drive over 90 mph and crossing lanes on the North Service Road until she reached Wright City. Officers said she then used the Elm Street bridge to access eastbound Interstate 70 and fled in the other direction.
During this portion of the chase, police said Miller’s drove up to 130 mph while swerving around other vehicles.
Miller exited I-70 at the Foristell weigh station, turned around, and allegedly drove the vehicle directly at the police car pursuing her. She swerved at the last second, did a U-turn back onto I-70, and drove toward Wentzville.
Other officers had gotten ahead of Miller and laid traffic spikes on the road, according to the police report. Miller reportedly tried to avoid the officers and lost control, striking the center median and overturning.
Officers said Miller was driving with a suspended license, and confirmed that the vehicle was reported stolen out of St. Louis.
The warrant that has been issued for Miller’s arrest includes no bond until she is seen by a judge.
