Taylor M. Barton was charged Sept. 4 with two felony counts of second-degree domestic assault and first-degree tampering with a vehicle and two misdemeanors for driving without a license and careless and imprudent driving.
Warrenton police were dispatched around 11:36 a.m. Sept. 3 to Warren Avenue for a report of a stolen vehicle. Officers found the victim limping and covered in road rash, scrapes and cuts. He told police Barton had taken his vehicle, driving down Warren Avenue and through a neighbor’s yard while he held onto the passenger-side window before falling off.
According to the probable cause statement, Barton admitted to the incident and left without calling for medical help. Police said the two had previously been in a relationship for nine months.
