Dinner and auction benefits R-III graduates

Tickets are now on sale for the WISE Foundation’s 2022 Red & White Dinner to support scholarships and other academic success for local R-III students. The dinner will be held Friday, April 2 at the Warrenton Elks Lodge, and will include live music and dancing, along with a silent and live auction, and online bidding for those not able to attend in person.

Individual tickets are $75, with all proceeds from the night going directly to support WISE Foundation scholarships and academic enhancement.

Last year through community contributions, WISE was able to award 22 scholarships at $1,250 each for students continuing their education following graduation from R-III.

“Through the generosity of our community around this event, we’re able to help qualifying students with a sizable portion of out-of-pocket expenses to pay for books and other costs during the first year of college or trade school, easing the financial burden for them and their families,” said WISE Foundation President Carmen Schulze. “We want to advantage our kids as much as possible to put them on even footing with students from other towns and cities.”

This year, a special website—http://Bidpal.net/WISE—has been set up for the event to enable information about the night, including photos of auction items and online bidding. Auction information will be available March 26 through the close of bids at 8:30 p.m. April 2.

Financial donations also can be safely and securely made through the website.

“We’ve worked to make participation in this year’s Red & White dinner, auction and donations as easy and accessible as possible, with the goal of maximizing involvement from the community,” said Schulze.

The WISE Foundation Board is excited about the way businesses, organizations and individuals have stepped up to make this year’s auction successful, with items including tickets to professional and Mizzou sporting events, luxury dinner packages, naming rights for high school sports fields, 2022 Graduation preferred seating and parking, and meats/processing. A full list of items will be posted on the website.

Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., with dinner beginning at 6 p.m., followed by auctions and dancing to live music by the Norm Ruebling Band from Columbia.

The Elks Lodge (Carman Hall) is located at 1101 E Veterans Memorial Pkwy in Warrenton.
