This year, the sixth annual WISE Foundation Red & White Dinner and Auction fundraiser that was planned for April 6 was cancelled due to COVID-19. Arrangements are now being made to hold the annual fundraiser next spring and the date will be announced soon.

Although no fundraiser was held this year, the WISE Foundation was still able to award and distribute nearly $18,000 in local scholarships to graduating seniors at the Warren County RIII graduation ceremonies held on May 30.

WISE Foundation scholarships were awarded to Macy McDaniel, Corbin Estes, Nicole Swoboda, Austin Shepard, Jack Bunge, Camilo Rodriguez-Rozas, Aarica Jones, Elizabeth McChristy, Tiffany Meine, William Lee, Yzabel Alvarez and McKenzie Branson.

The WISE Foundation congratulates all graduating students and wishes them the best in their future plans and endeavors.

The WISE Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that manages, dispenses and coordinates scholarships and grants for students and teachers of the Warren County RIII School District.

“WISE” is an acronym for “Warren County RIII Investment in Scholastic Excellence.” The foundation began as a grassroots organization in 2009 and since its inception the foundation has awarded more than $231,000 to graduating seniors in the school district. Additionally, WISE has granted more than $164,000 in classroom grants to departments and teachers throughout the school district.

Through student scholarships and classroom grants, the WISE Foundation strives to support as many students as possible. The primary benefactors are the Warren County RIII students, whose educational experiences and opportunities are enhanced by the projects and scholarships funded by the organization. While these improved educational opportunities are mainly beneficial to the students in the district, the entire Warren County RIII community reaps the benefits and rewards of supporting and enhancing the education of its young people.
