The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch for Warren County and the surrounding area. The warning, issued Wednesday morning, is in effect from late Thursday, Jan. 12, through the afternoon on Saturday, Jan. 14. Residents are urged to take precautionary actions. The National Weather Service warning said the storm could bring more than one quarter of an inch of ice in some areas and winds from the northeast at 5 to 10 mph.The National Weather Service warning said the wintry precipitation will likely result in hazardous travel conditions, especially on bridges, overpasses and untreated roads. Parking lots and sidewalks will become slippery as well.The National Weather Service reminds residents that a winter storm watch is advanced notice that current weather patterns have the potential to turn severe.
