The Wright City Wildcats followed up their thrilling season opening win with a 21-7 win over Orchard Farm in their home opener.
The Wildcats (2-0) jumped out to a 15-0 halftime lead. Duan McRoberts scored on a rushing touchdown inside the 10 yard line with 5:54 remaining in the first half. Demetrice Le Noir recovered a fumble near midfield and returned it for a touchdown with less than three minutes left in the half. Jeremiah Davis intercepted an Orchard Farm pass in the end zone with one second left to keep Orchard Farm scoreless in the first half.
Denzel Dowdy added a rushing touchdown for the Wildcats on their opening possession of the third quarter. Orchard Farm scored a touchdown later in the third quarter to trim the score to 21-7.
Wright City will host Mark Twain next week.
