The Wright City girls softball team traveled to Boonville this past weekend to compete in the Lady Pirate Leadoff Classic.
They played three games on Saturday against Fayette, Clinton and Eugene. Against Fayette, the Wildcats lost 6-3. Lydia Clubb had two runs and Paige Rees recorded one run. Sophia Wegrzyn recorded four strikeouts.
In their second game of the day, Wright City was winning until the sixth inning and ultimately lost 11-8. Lydia Clubb added two runs and one home run. Jolee Lockhart and Bailey Love added one run and Paige Rees had three. Ava Swaringen struck out six batters. In their last game of the day, Wright City lost 9-3. Lillian Brown and Sadie Sehnert scored runs.
