During the season of giving, many people are taking inventory of what they have, what they need and what they can do to help others. It is an especially critical time for charities and nonprofit organizations. Here are what some of those groups have on their Christmas lists:Pat Harper, president, Animal Welfare Association — The volunteers of the Animal Welfare Association (AWA) wish a joyous holiday season to all. As a foster home rescue for dogs and cats, our home is always full with the pitter-patter of our four-legged friends. On AWA’s Christmas list are trash bags (small and kitchen size), paper towels and scoopable kitty litter. Special wishes for its dogs include Kong toys and Nylabones (these are sturdy) and treats. For our cats, special wishes include toys, all kinds, small beds and collars.CCAC Board of Directors — Our Christmas wish? Every dog in a loving home with a full dish. All cats having fun with catnip and toys. We wish all Warren County animals had these joys! Our county needs a shelter to help give our animals care. So please donate or volunteer whatever you can spare.Ellen Reed, MPPA, executive director, Turning Point — Turning Point provides emergency shelter and supportive services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. We need the type of things you use at home, but all cleaning and laundry products need to be “free and clear.”We also need all-purpose spray cleaners, laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, frozen meat bundles, coffee, coffee filters, creamer, fresh dairy, copy paper, spiral notebooks, pens, towels, twin sheets.Much, much gratitude. Wishes of love, peace and hope through the holidays and into the new year!Lindsey Boehle, executive director, Warren County Senior Center — Our Christmas Wish, would be to have increased awareness of our Center’s mission, as well as the services we provide our community. We are always in need of donations and volunteers to continue providing hot meals daily to area seniors who cannot otherwise provide for themselves. Stop in anytime to see what we’re all about.Christmas wishes
